About this event
What does it mean to begin something new later in life, and to keep going, even when it’s hard?
Join Amherst Neighbors member Kitty Burns Florey for a joyful reading from her newest book, The Music of Eighty: Learning in Old Age. Part memoir, part reflection on aging, and part celebration of curiosity, the book traces Kitty’s experience learning to play the viola da gamba at age 80, and the unexpected lessons that came with it.
With warmth and humor, Kitty explores music, memory, friendship, persistence, and the pleasures (and challenges) of continuing to learn as we grow older.
